Huzzah! I have finally done the impossible and managed to install Apache and MYSQL on my computer so I can perform all my geekly duties offline - mainly trying to beef up my portfolio since I have no experience.
I also just bought a Juicy Couture mousepad and mouse, and must say I got very excited about it.
Eh…at least I’m a geek with style.
Speaking of Juicy Couture, I bought the following last Sunday:
- $450 Juicy Couture watch
- $75 Juicy Couture mousepad and mouse
- $150 Juicy Couture messenger bag
- $75 Juicy Couture binder
- $125 Juicy Couture laptop bag
- $170 Juicy Couture fluffy purse
For a grand total of just under a $1,000…in one day, on just Juicy Couture, believe me I bought a lot more than that. The sad thing is, I’m supposed to be saving money for college, but I’ve pretty much given up on getting out of here and have settled on blowing my hard saved earnings on whatever is pink.
Besides, I can’t help buying anything Juicy. I see it, I start having spasms, reach involuntarily into my wallet and throw the nearest Visa I can find at the cashier and proclaim everything within a 50 ft square radius mine. I think it’s called Juicyitus…though that kind of sounds like an STD. Ew.
I’ve also been working on my new layout for my new blog (as I’m still planning to ditch this one come the domain expiry date.). It’s heavily inspired by Sarah Chow’s work, and has so far taken five hours to make - without even coding it yet, nor is anywhere near complete. Hopefully, I’m not wasting my time and won’t ditch the layout in five days.

…the movie theater.
On Friday, the power went out (again - hence, why I rarely get a chance to update the blog) because it’s summer and there’s fifteen hundred storms and they keep knocking out the power and Pepco might suck - but that rant is for another day.
Anyway, so my mother and I go to the movie theater to waste time while the power is out and saw Iron Man. Now, I can’t really tell you how the movie was as it’s hard to hear when a baby is crying for almost two hours straight.
Eventually, the man who had the baby took the kid out into the hall and tried to continue watching the movie as if being five feet from the theater would actually kill the noise. My mother got irritated (we could still hear the crying) and asked the man to go into the lobby so everyone could finish watching the movie.
He refused.
Then, another man comes out and asks the same guy to go into the lobby. I don’t know what happened between that time, but soon there’s yelling and cursing and the entire audience is screaming at this one guy to get his kid out of the theater. He starts yelling back, the man who asked him to leave calls the police and I’m leaning out of my chair thinking this fight is better than Iron Man.
I don’t know how the movie ended. Or started. But when we left the theater a bunch of cops were out there and the man with the kid is lying to the police and saying that the other man pushed him and his kids. The audience of course heard this and called him out.
I actually thought all 200 people would jump this guy.
On the bright side, the theater gave everyone their money back but I wonder if they’re suing this guy. They must have lost a lot of money. 200 people at $10.50 each is quite a bit.
Next time, I’ll have to remember to break out the cell phone and tape the events.

I’m moving (maybe, hopefully, if things go well - which so far, they aren’t) soon. I’m excited and nervous, and anxious and nervous, and thrilled and nervous… and nervous.
I really want to hire a moving company, my mother wants us to do it. I just don’t think I can lug a couch into the world’s smallest elevator, up how who-knows how many levels and then dump it wherever; nor do I particularly want to try. I’m already nervous by all means, why add that to the mix?
We still haven’t even found a place to move in to, and still need a moving truck rental - not that I actually have any furniture, mind you.
Tuition is taking such a huge chunk out of my budget, that I actually have to buy my furniture from frickin Target. Actually, Target is probably too expensive for me. Make that Wal-mart.
Movingorbit.com provides quotes so I can figure out which mover (because I still refuse to do all this work by myself) is the cheapest and recieve several estimates from several companies. Which is good, because I also refuse to do additional work online, too. Moving is exhausting, I might as well make it as pain free as humanly possible, right?

I know I’ve said this like a hundred times in the past two weeks, but once again, I’m sorry for slacking on my affiliates. If you read my last protected post (hopefully) you can understand why, I’m stressed to my eyeballs and any free time I have is spent fretting over the coming semester.
I’ve never had financial concerns before, so this all new to me. I’m not feeling it.
I (may) have a very temporary (like two day) for a huge sale, I’m being interviewed tomorrow. I’ll probably only pull in $300 at best, but I suppose that’s groceries for a month or something?
I also applied for a job working for the company I blog for, I know that one will fall through, but at the time, it seemed like a good idea.
Anyway, I’m just rambling now.
I’ll make an attempt to pay everyone a visit.

As the typical college student knows, sifting through the mass of credit card offers and choosing an ideal card is a daunting task. It’s also a near impossible task to not get ripped off with absurdly high interest rates. My friend Ashlie said her interest rate is at 30%. I thought having a rate that high is illegal?
Guess not.
A great solution to the above problem is to look at a credit card review - which does the hard work for you, sifts through credit card offers and allows you to choose the best fit for you. In fact, according to the site, Capital One has an intro APR of only 7.9%, which compared to my interest, is pretty good.
Also ideal is the ability to search for cards that offer reward points for use on airline, gas, hotel, retail - you name it. It’s always great when you get something free for (almost) nothing.
If you’re in need of a credit card, want to review potential lower offers or just want to ditch your current company (which is what I’m considering doing), then head to the review site to look for a match credit card for you.
Then, feel free to test out your new credit card by buying me… I don’t know, a car? Yes, a car is good. BMW, please. 7-series. Thanks in advanced. ![]()
